Meet the Players

Minnesota is represented, or has been in the past, by the following players

(in no particular order).

KRISTI JOHNSON

Kristi is our club President who founded the Minnesota Extreme Polocrosse Club in 2002. She is an A graduate of Canterbury Pony Club where she was first introduced to the sport. Her favorite position is playing the "3".

STEVE and ASHLEY GOOD

Steve & Ashley Good are charter members of the MN Extreme club.  They were introduced to the sport of plx at a pony club summer camp, were the dads also played a pickup chucka.  Ashley plays on her 10 year old morgan cross Trucker, and is helping to get PLX an accredited sport at New Prague High School.  Steves hopes that Pacifica a six year old quarter horse will be a player like his departed trusted mount Laredo.

BRIAN BEALL

Brian never had an interest in riding until he discovered Polocrosse. His excellent racket skills and ability at playing the "1", make Brian fun to watch and great guy to have on your team! His horse Capone is a former working ranch horse who easily made the transition to Polocrosse.

SAM HAUCK

Sam had been the typical "horse husband" for 20 years. He was always a supportive spouse, but had no interest in riding himself. That all changed after watching a few Polocrosse practices. After finding a barrel horse to use for Polocrosse, he has been enjoying the sport immensely ever since. He was awarded the "most improved player" at the 2004 Spring Clinic. Sam is a pilot for Northwest Airlines.

BETHANY

I just got Typhoon and I have had Sophie.  TY is a tough horse loves pushing once he figured out how.  He is six years old.  Ty and Sophie are both great #2 horses and that's the position I love to play.  I am also working on getting a C-3 pony club rating on Tommy my older brothers horse.

BEN

Ben recently moved to Minnesota from Arkansas where practicing Polocrosse meant traveling 10 hours to Texas. He and his horse Tommy are high energy on the field and perfectly paired. Talented at playing the 1 and a tough number 3, Ben and Tommy can play for the team in any position.

MICHAEL JOHNSON

Michael Johnson got involved in Polocrosse after dating Kristi.  He decided that watching her ride was not his idea of a good time.  The only way to keep his interest was to give him a racquet and put him on a horse.  Now riding Phoenix they are a force to be reckoned with especially after finishing 2nd at the 2006 APA Nationals in D grade.

LINDSEY

"I started playing when I was 14 and was looking for something fun to do while I rode. It's been a blast playing polocrosse. I love it. There's always something new to learn and get better at. I LOVE POLOCROSSE!!" Lindsey is now 16 and rides her horse Kasper.

JOSH

Josh is the go to man, always getting thrown in last minute.  He was asked to fill a spot for the 2006 Nationals 24 hours before we left.  Though it was his first APA tournament he still lead his junior team as a great #1.

TODD MAREK

Todd is the self proclaimed chair of the "Social Committee."  Always a good time off the field, he and his  mount, lil Joe, are becoming a great pair on the field too.  New to the sport in 2006, he is determined to be the best.

JACE

Jace was introduced to polocrosse through pony club and is single handedly the reason his family is now hooked.  Jace is young, but probably one of the most competitive players in the club and always eager to succeed.  We're excited to see Jace get better and better each year.

PAIGE

Paige is quite a spit fire on and off the field.  She has somehow balanced being a lady, and keeping the men in line.  Paige spent last year umpiring on her hunter/jumper horse Jet but this year purchased a new horse, Cami.  This pair is unstoppable and is the reason Cami was named MN Extreme's 2006 Horse of the Year.

BRYCE

Bryce began riding at age 2 taking lessons from his older an accomplished English and Western pleasure rider. An aggressive hockey player Bryce found the traditional horse show rather boring. Introduced to Polocrosse by by his cousins, Paige and Jace Marek, He is attempting to combine his riding and hockey skills together. GO POLOCROSSE!

TRISTAN

The club started playing polocrosse at Tristan's families winery, the Chateau St. Croix Winery & Vineyard.  Tristan was always eager to jump in and play on whatever horse he had even though he played without a racquet for the majority of last year.  In 2006 Tristan was voted MN Extreme's Most Improved Player for his amazing improvement and great #3 work at Nationals.

ALECS

Alecs is an upcoming star.  She is a funny girl when you get to know her.  Relatively shy off the field but once she gets the ball in her racquet watch out!  She'll make all her bounces, every shot, and don't bother giving her wood, it usually doesn't work.

TROY HERZOG

"I started to exercise Kristi's horses and played a few times at the fair grounds. Polocrosse is a great amount of fun and everyone seems to enjoy themselves, on and off the field." Troy is "old" and rides whoever's horse is available.

LAUREN

Lauren, only ridden twice before we went to our first practice last summer and now is totally hooked on both horses and plx.  Excited to be going to her first national tournament this fall. and was proud to represent the team for our first sanctioned tournament and at the polo classic. Owns a 12yo TB.

Thank you to our sponsors Winkler Structures, Chateau St. Croix, and Nutrena!
